General Description

According to the Program of the Water Resources Management Training Project in the Aral Sea Basin, it was planned to market the training center as a local center of excellence and budget the institution's programs using a cost-recovery methodology.

For this purpose the following tasks are scheduled to start in February 2001:
  • A market study of the emerging training needs, within the public and private sectors, in the fields of agricultural and environmental sciences.
  • The formulation of short-term and long-term business plans for the training centre. The business plans would include projections of revenues from tuition fees and training contracts.
  • The development of a marketing and promotional plan for the training centre.
  • The identification and development of training courses required within the private sector. The focus of these courses will be towards privatisation, small business and entrepreneurship. Potential courses include the preparation of business plans, procurement, and privatisation.
The advantages of training at the ICWC Training Center include:
  • advanced audio-visual and computer equipment;
  • skilled instructors from among the best specialists of the region;
  • elaborate curriculum approved by the experts of the Mount Royal College;
  • a western learner focused approach, delivered by McGill and Mount Royal trainers;
