Short-term water reform courses |
|
|
This activity will be targeted towards middle managers, whose role will be to promote institutional reform, decentralization and demand driven management within water management authorities (either government-based or agency-based). This activity envisions the delivery of five course offerings. Some of the specific courses that will be targeted to this group include, but are not limited to:
- Integrated water resources management;
- Water laws and water rights;
- Water pricing and cost recovery;
- Water users participation and formation of water users associations;
- Ecological and social aspects of water policy, including gender considerations.
An additional activity is a conflict resolution component, which will be useful in the promotion of successful regional cooperation. Each course is expected to be two weeks in duration and each course will require the work of Canadian trainer for 25 days (approximately one week for preparation, two weeks for delivery and one week for review /evaluation).
