This report follows a successful completion of the ICWC Water Resources Management Training Center's Workshop on "Principles of and approaches to accounting adopted in international practice" that held from March 24-28, 2003 in the ICWC Training Centre in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
After break-up of the Soviet Union, former soviet republics have begun transition to open-market economy. So integration with other states of the world stipulates common units of measures. Accounting system of the republics is also one of the subjects, which should be integrated with the international system.
In Central Asia, nowadays there are many projects oriented water or ecology, which are funding by donor organizations or foreign states. Majority of the investors requires financial statements in international recognized forms. Proceeding from this, there is a demand on organization of some kind of course on introduction to international accounting.
