DAY 1. After the flight from your destination to Tashkent, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel. After a chance to refresh we'll take you on a tour of the city; Tashkent is a fascinating mixture of ancient and modern - the ancient world of Islam rubbing shoulders with the modern world of trade and tourism.
After that you will arrive to the Scientific Information Center of the Interstate Commission for Water Coordination (SIC ICWC) and will be introduced into the water management of Uzbekistan. We will show you the facilities of SIC ICWC and ICWC Training Center, demonstrate films and read lectures on the following topics: "History of irrigation in Uzbekistan", "Role of water in Central Asia" and "Water and climatic conditions in Central Asia".
In the evening you will have a chance to meet the water management high officials of Uzbekistan from the Ministry of the Agriculture and Water Management of the Republic of Uzbekistan and regional organizations and donor projects etc. You will take part in the discussions of the problems related to the integrated use and conservation of water resources and solving the problems of the Aral Sea.
DAY 2. After breakfast you will arrive at BVO Syr Darya, the River Basin Authority responsible for allocation and control of water resources on the Syr Darya river. There you will be able to get acquainted with the water resources management in the Syr Darya river basin, the complicated process of water allocation planning.
After lunch you will visit the hydraulic structures of Tashkent oblast: Charvak dam and reservoir and Gazalkent intake structure on the Chirchik river. You will get acquainted with the operation of this great hydrostructure, reflecting water, power generation and economic specific features of the integrated water resources use in the arid zone.
During the trip you will be amazed at the beauty of Tian-Shan mountains and Charvak reservoir, which is a great not only of Tashkent population, but also people from Central Asia and abroad.
DAY 3. You will spend the third day of your trip in Tashkent, seeing its ancient buildings and monuments, modern architecture, walking in its green parks with fountains and old trees, visiting its museums and theatres. You will see the Mausoleum of Sheikh Hobandi Tahur (15th c.), Mausoleum of Yunuskhan (16th c.), Mausoleum of Zahghi-Ota (14th c.) and Medressah of Kukeldash (14th c.); visit the Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Applied Arts and Amir Timur museum; walk in the center of the city, Amir Timur square and the famous street without car traffic called the "Broadway" by local people. In the evening you will see the performance at Navoi Opera and Ballet Theatre.
