3. FERGHANA VALLEY TOUR |

During this tour you will visit Tashkent, Samarkand, return to Tashkent and then go to Ferghana Valley, the duration of this tour is 12 days:
- Days 1-2 - Tashkent
- Days 3-4 - Samarkand,
- Days 5-6 - Bukhara
- Day 7 - Hunger Steppe and return to Tashkent
- Day 8 - Tashkent
- Days 9-11 - Ferghana valley
- Day 12 - Tashkent
DAYS 9-11. The trip to the fertile Ferghana valley will take place during this tour. The valley has a third of the irrigated lands in Uzbekistan which get their water from the Naryn and Kara-Darya and also from small mountain rivers. During the trip you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the operation of the following water structures:
- Uchkurgan hydroscheme on the Naryn river
- Andijan reservoir on the Kara Darya with a volume of 1,750 million cubic meters, with a unique concrete Kuyganyar dam on the Karadarya 115 meters high and more than a kilometer long along the crest
- Big Andijan Canal 110 kilometres long, with discharge of 200 cubic metres per second, which irrigates a total area of 140,600 hectares
- Big Ferghana Canal (with the discharge of 175 cubic metres per second) and its Operation Management Office.
You will also visit the Pakhtakor Farm, where the investigations under CIRMAN-ARAL Project (Copernicus Program) are being performed.
You will be able to visit the historical sights of the 18th and 19th century located in old cities of Ferghana valley Andijan, Shakhimardan and Kokand such as Valley Jami Medressah 19th c. in Andijan, Shakh-i-Mardan Mausoleum and Khamza Mausoleum in Shakhimardan and others.
