Charvak Dam and Reservoir on the Chirchik river are located in 2 hours of drive from Tashkent. The volume of the reservoir is 1600 million cubic meters.
The Charvak Reservoir is a big recreation area not only for Tashkent and Tashkent oblast population, but the visitors from the outside. Chimgan, the area on the south shore of the Charvak reservoir, 80 km up the Chirchik river valley, is popular for winter sports.
